Students will learn the basics of a horse’s nature and temperament, as well as how to effectively and safely partner with a horse on the ground and in the saddle. We work with our students to improve their practical knowledge of horses and horse handling, while they learn new riding skills with an emphasis toward learning “feel” for the horse. They then expertly do their job of pollinating our local community’s flower and vegetable gardens, fruit trees and other deciduous trees that enjoy pollination. Sumac Hill Farm offers tours of our honey bee apiary for individuals, small groups and school children. Our tour is a fascinating experience to observe first hand how these wonderful creatures, with a very precisely structured society, perform this amazing work of pollinating so much of the food we enjoy. To help grow the number of local honey bee hives, we offer a Mentoring Program in which we lead interested folks from “beginning to end” to learn the “hobby and art” of caring for these wonderful pollinators. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries.
